The Seville gates were significantly restored by Alex in 2013, and we returned in 2020 to perform some long-term maintenance on this unusual set of gates. In the intervening years there had been a significant build-up of organic matter on the surface of the paint, and some minor coating failures in areas of high wear. Overall however, the paint system was still performing in a very satisfactory way. Our work therefore consisted mainly of removal of organic matter using a cold water pressure washer, spot prepping and priming any areas of coating failure and then applying a new top coat over the whole of the gates and their piers.
